David Turrentine, Chairman

Mr. Turrentine is a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University with a degree in marketing, is Chairman of the Board and Secretary of Standard Enterprises, Inc. He was a member of the Board of Directors of American Bank and Regions Bank of Northeast Louisiana for 21 years.

 Mr. Turrentine is a past president of Northeast Louisiana Homebuilders Association. He is also a Certified Property Manager (CPM), a designation awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management, a division of the National Association of Realtors, and is a member of the Monroe-West Monroe Board of Realtors. Mr. Turrentine has worked for Standard Enterprises since 1965 and has been the Chief Executive Officer since 1978. Mr. Turrentine has been involved in the construction of over 5,000 apartment units and 3,000 single family homes.  Mr. Turrentine is on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Affordable Housing Management Association (LAHMA) and is a member of the Executive Council of the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA)was Chief Exe cutive Officers from 1978 until 2006.  Mr. Turrentine has been involved in the construction of over 4,000 apartment units and 3,000 single family homes.

Mark, a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University, serves on the Board of Directors and is the company's President and Chief Executive Officer.  He also serves as President and is a member of the board of the Louisiana Association of Affordable Housing Providers ("LAAHP").  LAAHP is a non-profit organization with the primary goal of encouraging laws, regulations and programs that contribute toward developing a viable affordable housing industry in Louisana. 

Prior to Joining Standard Enterprises in 1996, Mark worked for the development arm of the C. J. Brown Corporation of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for 8 years. He was involved in the renovation and construction of approximately 2,000 apartment units utilizing tax-exempt bond financing, HUD mortgage insurance, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credits. He held the position of Senior Vice President upon leaving C. J. Brown in 1994.

Mark served as Vice President of American Central Development for nearly two years, developing approximately 500 apartment units utilizing Low Income Housing Tax Credits. Upon leaving American Central Development and joining Standard Enterprises, he served as a consultant to American Central Development in the financing of approximately 1,300 apartment units of new construction and renovation utilizing tax-exempt bond financing and low income housing tax credits.

In all, Mark has been involved in the acquisition and development of over 5,000 apartment units.

 

Bert Loe, Chief Financial Officer

Bert Loe, Executive Vice President

Bert O. Loe is the Executive Vice President for Standard Enterprises, Inc. and serves on the Board of Directors for Standard Enterprises, Inc. and Equity Construction of Monroe, Inc. Bert started working at Standard Enterprises on January 2, 2000. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in November of 1991. Bert passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Examination in November of 1994. Prior to joining Standard Enterprises, Inc., Bert managed a public accounting firm in Monroe, Louisiana for 8 years. He provided consulting services to Low-Income Housing developers and residential housing management companies in the state of Louisiana. Bert prepared Low-Income Housing Tax Credit applications, issued cost certifications to the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency, issued financial statement audits in accordance with generally accepted account principles, and prepared federal and state tax returns for all types of entities.

Bert is a member of the Louisiana Affordable Housing Management Association, National Affordable Housing Management Association, Institute of Real Estate Management, Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, Louisiana Small Business Association, Monroe Chamber of Commerce, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants. Bert is currently on the board of directors of the Louisiana Affordable Housing Management Association, an executive member of the National Affordable Housing Management Association, and serves on the Louisiana Small Business Association Advisory Board. He holds a Louisiana Real Estate Salesperson license and is applying for a Broker license. He is a candidate for the IREM Certified Property Manager designation. Bert has professional designations as National Affordable Housing Property Executive, Certified Occupancy Specialist, Specialist in Housing Credit Management and Fair Housing Compliance all issued by the National Affordable Housing Management Association. He is a Certified Credit Compliance Professional issued by Steven Rosenblatt with Spectrum Seminars. Bert has also completed the three day Real Estate Assessment Center course held in Washington, D.C. on Uniform Physical Condition Standards Physical Inspection Training sponsored by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

 

James FreemanJames Freeman, Vice President of Development 

Prior to joining Standard Enterprises, Inc. James was employed for 6 years with the Ouachita Parish Police Jury where his duties included technical review of residential subdivision applications and assisting with right-of –way acquisition for public purposes. 
 

 Since joining Standard Enterprises, Inc. in 2003 James has been involved with the development of over 700 single family rental units totaling over $130 million dollars in construction and development.  James is a Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM), a designation given by the National Affordable Housing Management Association. James serves on the Board of Directors for West Ouachita Little League. James is also a Louisiana licensed real estate sales agent.

 

Glenn Walker, President Equity Construction

Walker Glenn, President, Equity Construction

Walker is President and a partiner in Equity Construciton of Monroe, Inc., the construction arm of Standard Enterprises, Inc.. Mr. Glenn is a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University with a B. S. degree in Construction. He is a licensed general contractor and a licensed asbestos abatement contractor. He is a former owner of Eason Portable Building, Inc., a portable building contractor for office, storage and special applications. Prior to joining Standard Enterprises, Inc. in 2001, Mr. Glenn owned Commercial Asbestos Controls, Inc., a residential, commercial and industrial asbestos abatement contractor and Glenn Properties, Inc., a licensed general contractor. For twelve years the companies served such clients as Riverwood, Inc., Koch Industries, Georgia Pacific, Louisiana Pacific, Monroe City Schools and Ouachita Parish Schools. He has over 30 years of commercial and multi-family construction experience with jobs ranging in size from less than a million dollars to seventy-five million dollars. He has built 30 multi-family facilities totaling over 2,100 units in Louisiana and Texas.

 Mr. Glenn is a current Board Member and past Vice President of the Monroe Youth Baseball Association, current Board Member of Monroe Crimestoppers, Inc., a past Board Member of Northminster Baptist Church, a past Board Member and past President of the Northeast Louisiana Homebuilders Association, and past Board Member and Vice President of the Monroe Symphony Orchestra.
